Before you start doing any major packing and throwing different items in to different boxes take a deep breath, slow down and take care of your personal needs first.

For example, start a list of where you want to begin and at the top spot on that list write down My Personal Things.

You may be needing local movers in San Antonio or it may be a need for long-distance movers but the minute everything goes in to boxes and on a truck you will be without your possessions until they arrive or are unpacked at your new residence.

You can always go to a local San Antonio store to purchase personal items, however since you already have them on hand at home you might as well use them and not spend the extra money for items you don't currently need.

Pack a bag or a box marked personal that includes any medications or vitamins you take on a daily basis, your dental care products, deodorants, a roll of toilet paper, hair care products and hair brushes or combs, cosmetics, extra towels and washcloths, a change of clothes and shoes, any special bedroom needs like orthopedic pillows, glasses, etc., shaving needs and anything else you can think of that you will need.

While these things are everyday items it cannot be stressed how much you will need them and all too often in most moves people are left off guard and wanting these types of products.

After you have taken care of you immediate needs for you move around San Antonio or beyond you should move to the kitchen. Start with packing foods that can make the trip such as canned goods and boxed foods. Refrigerated and frozen items can make the trip if you are moving locally, but you might want to give away or donate anything leftover in your icebox. Move on to utensils and dishes, pots and pans and all other kitchen accessories.

After you have finished with the kitchen move on to the bathrooms before you start packing bedrooms. Bathrooms will be easy to pack and you can finish quickly before the daunting task of whatever you will discover in bedrooms.

Keep everything to the bare minimums while you are packing so you can have as much done as the moving date gets closer.

Most living and dining rooms contain large furniture that will be moved on the day of the move so you can leave that for your friends or the moving company you might have hired to assist in your move, but remember to keep track of remote controls and other small objects that are easily misplaced.

Remember to stay organized and keep the disorder of packing to a minimum. Packing your home in advance with method and tidiness will keep everyone involved in the move happy and feeling more comfortable with the move.

Save garages and outdoor items until you are done with the inside of your home and store everything neatly after it has been packed.
